A gentle introduction (or review) of drawing fundamentals

LOCATION:  Studio #206 on the upper level of The Alton Mill Arts Centre
FEE:  $50 + HST per person

This single afternoon session is a great opportunity to learn some fundamentals or get a feel for what one of my regular weekly drawing classes on Wednesday or Sunday afternoons is like.

For students who have taken drawing with me in the past or have taken a break this summer, it can also be a great review and “catch up” session before regular Sunday classes resume again October 15.

Even if you are a complete newbie or concerned you “can’t draw”, a couple of hours with me will have you overcoming your fears and demonstrate that you absolutely can! In this session we will cover some basic principles as you create a series of three drawings of a still life. You will be amazed at how just a few expert tips and tricks combined with lots of gentle encouragement will get you drawing in no time.

Materials are NOT supplied so please bring your own sketchbook, drawing pencils, eraser and pencil sharpener. For newbies, please bring what you already have on hand and I can advise what else to purchase or supplement it with if you are considering going further with your drawing.

My approach is gentle and supportive with the goal of making drawing fun and accessible to all. Come enjoy the calm atmosphere of my studio and discover the joy of drawing and how it is a wonderfully stress-reducing and relaxing activity.

CANCELLATION POLICY. Please note that all workshops are non-refundable if you are a no-show, cancel or change your mind at the last minute. A raincheck for another workshop may be offered if there are extenuating circumstances that prevent you from attending but this will be solely at the discretion of the instructor. In the event a class needs to be cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen reasons it will be rescheduled or fully refunded.
