Have you ever wanted to learn more about the mysterious cards known as the Tarot? Are you curious how this often misunderstood divination system can be used for self-development? Have you been collecting decks but not sure how to use them? Join me for this thoughtful exploration of tarot that will have you looking at Tarot cards in a whole new way!
Both Tarot and Oracle cards are effective tools for exploring our own inner “knowing”, revealing new options and new perspectives as well as confirmation on our choices as we make our way through the journey of life.
Often debunked, feared, or considered merely a fortune-telling system, the Tarot is actually a psychologically complex visual system of symbols and metaphors. Embedded in its strange but fascinating imagery are many ancient systems of guidance as well as clues on how to access your own practical, everyday wisdom. It is these aspects that makes the cards just as relevant now as they were hundreds of years ago at helping us make decisions and navigate daily life.
In this workshop we will be covering:
- A brief history of the Tarot
- The difference between Tarot and Oracle cards
- How the cards interact with our subconscious to reveal meaningful messages
- The anatomy of a Tarot deck (the Major and Minor Arcana plus the Court Cards and the four elemental energies that govern them)
- The overarching story that gives structure and meaning to the cards
- How to choose a deck and take care of it
- How to formulate a good question, work with simple spreads, and do readings for yourself and others
This workshop is perfect for curious beginners as well as those more experienced with the cards but looking to rekindle excitement in working with them again. And, because this is an experiential workshop each participant will have the opportunity to give a reading and get a reading!
I will have a variety of decks on hand but you are encouraged to bring some of your own. The more we have to look at and work with the better.
I have been studying and reading Tarot for over 30 years and invite you to come see for yourself the magic and mystery of this powerful tool for self-reflection, validation, clarity, and transformation. No prior tarot knowledge is necessary. The only goal is to simply learn, discover and play!
