“Seeing With New Eyes” – Drawing Classes with CJ Shelton
Learn the fundamental skills needed to draw everything. Drawing isn’t as complicated as you think… with a little coaching on how to see things with an artist’s eye and lots of tips from CJ’s 35+ years of experience, just about everything around you can become subject matter for amazing drawings. It’s all about learning to see things in a completely different way.
In the creative and inspirational environment of CJ’s studio at the Alton Mill Arts Centre you can hone your skills and learn new ones that will demystify all those “tricky bits”. Whether you are a complete beginner or more advanced these fun and informative sessions let you discover the joy of drawing. In only a few sessions you will see a noticeable improvement in your drawing abilities and begin looking at the world around you in a whole new way …
WEEKLY ONGOING CLASSES

DAYS & TIMES:
- Sunday Afternoon Sessions – 1 to 3 pm – Adults (beginners and advanced)
- Wednesday Afternoon Sessions – 1 to 3 pm – Adults (beginners and advanced)
- Sunday Morning Kid’s Session – 10 am to Noon – Especially for Young Budding Artists Ages 10-16 If you have a young person seriously wanting to improve their realistic drawing skills and be taught by a professional, please contact CJ to discuss if the format will suit your youngster.
COST: Block of 4 sessions = $130 + HST (start anytime/take any 4 scheduled sessions within 8 weeks of start).
Sessions are offered in ‘blocks’ that allow lots of flexibility and one-on-one quality instruction. Start anytime, pay-as-you-go and focus on particular areas where you need to build your skills such as shading, perspective, proportioning, etc. A theme is loosely set for each scheduled date but is very flexible as each session is adapted to suit individual needs and interests.
Class sizes are limited to only 8 students maximum at any one time to ensure each student gets lots of attention.
LOCATION: Sessions held in CJ’s studio #206 on the upper floor of the Alton Mill Arts Centre
BRING YOUR OWN ART SUPPLIES – a large spiral-bound sketchbook (11″x14″ minimum), a set of drawing pencils and a kneadable eraser. Inspiration provided!
