Join me weekly in the beautiful, nurturing environment of my studio where you can relax and enjoy the company of others as you learn the fundamental skills needed to draw everything! Drawing isn’t as complicated as you think… all it takes is a little coaching and lots of tips from my 35+ years of experience.
Whether you are a complete beginner or more advanced, in only a few sessions there will be a noticeable improvement in your drawing as you start seeing the world around you in a whole new way! Subject matter is loosely set for each session but is very flexible and based on each student’s needs and interests. NOTE: Class sizes are limited to only 7 students maximum to ensure each student gets lots of attention.
FALL 2026 DRAWING CLASSES
These sessions are the perfect way to build and sustain a weekly habit of drawing regularly. Under my tutelage your skills will develop exponentially as you learn the fundamentals and hone them through working with a variety of subject matter including landscapes, animals, still life and more. Both beginners and advanced are welcome.
Choose your preference of Wednesday OR Sunday afternoons:
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS from 1pm to 3pm
- Session 1 – Begins September 23, 2026 and runs for 5 Wednesdays until October 21, 2026 ** FULL **
- Session 2 – Begins November 4, 2026 and runs for 5 Wednesdays until December 2, 2026 ** FULL **
Total cost for 5 classes is $213.00 ($200+HST), paid in full BEFORE the first class.
SUNDAY AFTERNOONS
- One Session Only – Begins October 25, 2026 and runs for 6 Sundays until November 29, 2026 (spaces still available)
Total cost for 6 classes is $271.20 ($240+HST), paid in full BEFORE the first class.
TO REGISTER: space is limited to a maximum of 7 students so email me directly at artist@dancingmoondesigns.ca to inquire about availability and to book your spot. If a seat is available, payment can be made by e-transfer, credit card or cash prior to your first class. If the class is full I will add you to the wait list to be notified when a seat becomes available.
There are no credits for missed classes although if a seat is available in the other session you may be able to make a class up there. If we have had to cancel a class due to inclement winter weather or other unforeseen circumstances any “make up” classes will be held during the 2 week break at the end of the 6 weeks or held online via Zoom.
LOCATION: Sessions are held in my studio (#206) on the upper floor of the Alton Mill Arts Centre
BRING YOUR OWN ART SUPPLIES – a large spiral-bound sketchbook (11″x14″ minimum), a set of drawing pencils and a kneadable eraser plus a couple of fine line markers are all you need. Inspiration and subject matter provided!
PLEASE NOTE: These classes are not suitable for children. Young adults 12 years and over may be considered if they are mature for their age, are willing to be in a class with adults, and are very serious about learning to draw.
In-Person Private Lessons or Introductory Sessions
If you don’t feel quite ready to join a class you can book a private session with me to gently introduce (or re-introduce) yourself to the basics of drawing. In the calm and unpressured environment of my studio I will gently take you through the fundamentals and help you over any initial nervousness. The fee is $160 for a minimum of two hours.
While one-to-one sessions like this may cost a little more but they are well worth the dedicated time and attention you receive and will allow you to transition to group classes when you feel ready. You can also ask a friend, partner or child to join you and share the cost! For groups of more than two people, we can discuss options and cost. Please note though that this isn’t a “paint party” situation but for those who truly want to learn more about drawing.
